Natasha of The Consistency Project

Vintage Vibes
Natasha (@theconsistencyproject) is a Chinese and Korean American woman with dark brown hair.

It’s time for our Throwback Thursday post where we celebrate secondhand and vintage owners and their shops! We are excited to feature Natasha of The Consistency Project.

What inspired you to open your shop?

Although thrifting was always a part of my lifestyle growing up, at one point I was also a victim of fast fashion. As I began my journey of carving out a unique space for myself within fashion, I started to learn about the impact my buying decisions had on the environment and exploitation of many communities. Although upsetting, this inspired me to focus on building a brand around clothing that already existed and bring this conversation to the forefront of TCP. Instead of being a brand creating more “new”, I really wanted to focus on breaking the many stigmas of secondhand and inspire a lifestyle towards reuse.

  • Natasha wears a pale pink camisole and white carpenter jeans with hand painted flowers and other illustrations

How would you describe your own style?

I care about comfort and functionality but also love experimentation. When it comes to secondhand there’s those elements of discovery and play which push one’s creativity limits. It is so special! I love embracing the unknown at the same time I will always filter my decisions to make sure that what I’m wearing can get me through the day and is dog/baby proof. 😉 Quality fabrics are also a must. My style is definitely reflected in the curation of TCP. If you check out the TCP shop it’ll definitely give you a sense of my personal vibe and energy. 😉

Who is your fashion icon?

To be honest I’ve never really had a specific fashion icon. I didn’t necessarily grow up with much knowledge or exposure towards the traditional “fashion industry” and have kind of kept that same mentality till this day. I love to take inspiration from anyone and everyone I meet or come across. Life can be such an interesting and intricate experience so I like to draw motivation constantly any moment I can. Like secondhand, each person is unique and has a story to tell. People are my icons.

What is the size range of your pieces?

Our shop always carries clothing sizes from XS – 3XL and bottoms that go up to a 42” waist. We are still in the process of adding everything online due to the current circumstances and hope to have this range reflected in the coming weeks. We appreciate your patience! If you’d like to message us with your size and what you’re looking for we’re happy to provide more of a personal shopping experience.
