What inspired you to open your shop?
I went through a dramatic breakup 2 years ago. I needed to find myself again as a single woman and as an individual. I was feeling insecure and depressed, so I started to take care of myself and just indulge in whatever it is I wanted to do, so I bought myself lingerie just to wear around the house. I started feeling more comfy and confident in my own skin again and I figured I can’t be the only woman feeling like this after a breakup and wanted to help other women feel the same confidence through lingerie.

I used to sell vintage clothing years ago and I always loved vintage lingerie, but never sold it, so when I relaunched my brand, I relaunched as a vintage lingerie brand. It’s really about helping other women feel empowered and sexy, yet being sustainable at the same time.

Everything in the shop is bedroom themed–lingerie and candles/jewelry dishes, but eventually, the home goods section will include more items that you would find in the bedroom such as incense, a room/linen spray, etc.
How would you describe your own fashion?
My own personal style ranges depending on my mood. Some days I’m super romantic and boho femme and other days I’m t-shirts and jeans and sneakers kind of girl. I guess I’m mostly “boho femme.” I wear a lot of vintage in general.

Who is your fashion icon?
I love Tracee Ellis Ross’s style. She nails it every time. I also love Zoe Kravitz’s style.
What is the size ranges of your pieces?
Bum-Cake Vintage sells pieces size 0-18.
